The Joy Children Bring

All parties involved are to be congratulated on the new plans for the Southport Town Hall gardens, but particularly the bereaved families whose vision it is. That is the view of Liberal Democrat opposition leader on Sefton, Clir. John Pugh.
"Imagination is being and will be shown at every level to create a space which will show what joy children bring to this world".
The plans involve the creation of a family-friendly, child-orientated, and safe open-air performance and gathering space and will cost over £10M to deliver. The current gardens dedicated to Princess Diana after her tragic death are in a sadly dilapidated state.
"The town owes a huge debt of gratitude to the families, but the sensitive and substantial response of no 10 has been both crucial and admirable too," said Clir Pugh.
It now falls upon the rest of us Southport folk to make the project as successful as it can be as a place where childhood and the creativity of children can be celebrated. If Southport in the years to come is known for its appreciation and championing of the gifts and blessings children bring to our life, that would truly be a great and enduring legacy.
