Gareth Lloyd-Johnson for Sefton Central

For A Fair Deal

Councillor Gareth Lloyd-Johnson is currently Head of Public Affairs and Campaigns at a national cancer charity. He is also deputy leader of the Liberal Democrat group on Sefton Council, representing Meols Ward since May 2022, and has experience holding both the Conservatives and Labour to account.

He was previously Senior Policy and Public Affairs Officer at the Royal Osteoporosis Society, and has worked as a Campaigns Officer at the Association for Liberal Democrat Councillors and Candidates (ALDC). Gareth has also worked with MPs including Layla Moran, Greg Mulholland, and John Pugh (now a fellow Sefton councillor).

He has served as a Governor at a primary school, and his policy priorities for our area are health and education.

Gareth Lloyd-Johnson, and Family.

I am absolutely delighted to be selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Sefton Central.

Becoming a Dad in late 2022 radically changed how I view life, as it does for all new parents. Now my priorities are not only the things that first got me into politics such as improving healthcare, but what our future will look like.

I want my daughter to grow up in a safe community with parks to play in and a high-quality school to attend. Every child deserves that.

Unfortunately, across Sefton Central we see the disparities. Where a child is born can drastically affect their prospects. That isn't fair and it isn't right. We owe it to future generations to make our communities safer, greener and fairer.
